Ping 1 - Gamechat
Ping 1
Ping 1 was our first cloud play game. Even though we successfully moved back and forth between Cloud Play and Simultaneous Turns (for marathons), a bug prevented reloading after one player was defeated. After vote, the game was called a draw. The following is the game chat log of that game.

Let it be known that Korea will not tolerate further German aggression against defenceless city states! Defending our allies is of the utmost priority. We hope the international community will agree with us on this issue.

As the Kongo Coffers lay empty from paying for a lackluster military boost, we see in the paid troops eyes how near they are to abandoning the cause.

Legions of German swordsmen have taken to the seas and now bear down on the Korean capital. Our people fear for their lives and scramble to prepare our defenses.

Saurkraut vs Kimchi. East vs. West. Which cabbage dish will survive?
Zar
Let the most fermented man win
Erik
I'll be honest, I love both a lot. I'm not sure I could pick one over another.

The German warriors landed on the coasts of Gyeongju in a surprise incursion into the unprotected Korean heartland. Within a single turn of landing, however, the Korean capital managed to recruit an incomprehensible combination of man, horse, and metal, and summoned large stone walls out of thin air.
The ill-fated assault has been recorded as one of the greatest blunders in German military history, but the threat was enough to bring Korea back to the table after their declaration of war.
A tentative peace deal has been offered, with Korea agreeing to allow German dominion over the peoples of Heidelberg-Königsberg.
Nate
Spartans can be seen nodding approvingly at the bravery shown by both Koreans and Germans.

Deutschland believes that giving anyone the ability to create culture bombs is irresponsible, and will only result in strife.

Sparta votes for valor and honor!
Joe
With no word from any of its friends, Deutschland votes as best it can.

Ranged units now have +5 and the Macedonians have a culture bomb ability.
Joe
But not first, apparently!
Nate
Apparently! We suspect that it is the noble and graceful Koreans who were first to accomplish this rare feat.
Joe
The Koreans have boats?
Nate
Many, though in seas likely unknown to the German people.

Let's just say... we got rational
Nate
Spartans have been rational for some time, but our cities are not the sprawling super cities that Korea possesses.
Nate
Zar
Greece, our once trusted ally, has denounced us without warning.
Nate
Korea's policy of isolationism and ethnocentrism is a threat to world stability. While we have grown fond of the Koreans, their unwillingness to share technology and culture with the rest of the world is alarming indeed.
Zar
We have shared freely, and accepted all diplomatic offers thrown our way. It seems the rest of the world fears progress more than they value peace!
Joe
Thems is some big words, library-lady.
Zar
Our words are backed with Niter-powered weapons!

The Kongo brought a Military Emergency to the World Congress.

Same, Deutschland was not asked for their opinion.

Nothing to see here, what Kongo empire..... Never existed, rumor

The German people are in awe of the changnig world around them, as nearby empires take to the seas and skies, they are all but left behind.
To the north, Greece. To the west, Korea. Two megaliths of science and culture with immense naval superiority.
What Deutschland does have is money, industry, and brave soldiers. They still field the largest army in the known world.
What good will come of these forces if they cannot travel the waterways of the Arctic ocean? Only time will tell.
Zar
Though we have cultivated peaceful relations with all the world's empires, Koreans feel that violence is on the horizon.
In the West, our Macedonian neighbors have rolled over the primitive Kongolese. Furthermore, they continue to send unwanted proselytizers into our lands.
More concerning is Gorgo's sudden change of heart. Previously we enjoyed peace and an extensive, profitable trade network between the 2 giants of the world. However, now we fear that the Greek people have ill intentions toward us.
The nearby German armies have not gone unnoticed either, and Korean political scholars fear they may have fallen under the influence of the bloodthirsty Greeks. We however still welcome peace with the Germans if they would have it.
NicoDemonous
Macedonia denies that our clerics and priests who spread our religion through your cities were "unwanted". Our faith spread across the world like a wave and still washes over the new beliefs of the world. We are not saying that there is not room for other beliefs, as long as our faith is first.
New motto of Macedonia, "Our Faith must be First"

In the face of growing tensions Germany and Korea sign a historic peace agreement, at least temporarily putting a halt to the southern arms race.
July 23, 2019
Joe
However, it begins with a new faith spreading in Deutschland. An ancient, long-forgotten cult to a god of death.
Tankards of ale have started to be imbibed with sidecar shots of human blood. The beleaguered people, once again falling short of the two superpowers that surround them, find solace and strength in their faith. As the world moves to the seas, skies, and stars, Germany descends into a drunken bloodlust.
May Gurgan see the German people through this dark age, and guide them so as to emerge from it stronger than ever.
